Horný Smokovec

Horný Smokovec is the highest-located spa for children and youth in Slovakia (960 metres above sea level). And it is the only spa in the Tatras that treats unspecified respiratory diseases and uses climate therapy mainly. Climate therapy is effective mainly if the climate differs from the one of the permanent residence so that it can influence the illness and stimulate processes in the organism that boost the immunity. Alpine climate is typical mainly for high sunshine values, clean air and temperature inversion. There are three sanatoriums in the spa village: Lúč, Sosna and Smrek. There is also a dining hall, a school and a gym.
